Indian team is going to have another hectic schedule.
After the completion of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), Team India will kick-start their fresh season in style. First, the World No.1 Test team will take on Afghanistan in a One-off Test. This is going to be a historic Test match as the Afghan team will make their debut in the red ball form.
Moreover, Ajinkya Rahane will lead the Indian team against Asghar Stanikzai Afghanistan as Virat Kohli will play for Surrey in County Championship.
However, Karun Nair has returned to the Test squad. Ishant Sharma and Shardul Thakur have also been included in the Test line-up.
Furthermore, Team India will play against Afghanistan from June 14 at Bengaluru. Rohit Sharma is being sidelined from the Test squad.
Indian Team will have their work cut out after IPL:
After playing Afghanistan at home, the Indian team will jet off to Ireland to play two-match Twenty20 International series.
Interestingly, Siddharth Kaul makes the cut into the T20I squad as the speedster has done exceedingly well in the ongoing IPL while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Meanwhile, Umesh Yadav is also given opportunity in the T20I squad. Washington Sundar is also introduced in the T20I squad for Ireland tour.
Men in Blue will play their two T20Is on June 27 and June 29 in Dublin respectively.
After playing the T20I series in Ireland, India will play three-match T20I series in England. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced a similar T20I squad for England tour as for the two matches against Ireland.
Meanwhile, for the ODI squad in England, Ajinkya Rahane is dropped. Ambati Rayudu, who is in prime form while playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the season eleven of IPL gets his chance in the ODI squad.
In addition, Shreyas Iyer has also made the cut into the 50-over fold.
