He also opined that this is the best decision taken by the team management in the last 2-3 years.
“This is probably the best decision the management has taken in the recent past. This is going to be great for Team India going forward, Rohit Sharma opening in Tests. Once he gets set, he takes the game away from the opposition,” Harbhajan told to India Today.
I wish Rohit Sharma all the luck going forward – Harbhajan Singh
Rohit is an experienced opener in the limited-overs cricket. He has the ability to tackle the bowlers in One Day International and T20I. As an opener in the Test match, he played his natural game and hit boundaries as usual.
Harbhajan added, “He has got the technique to play the fast bowlers. I don’t know why it didn’t come to their mind earlier. Better late than ever, they say. He has got a chance. Rohit has proven with the numbers as well that he is more than capable to be in the Test squad. I wish him all the luck going forward.”
Meanwhile, India has headed for the next Test match which will begin tomorrow (9th October). The match will be played in Pune ground which will decide much about the series.
