BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya, on April 2nd, made it clear to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) management that their ace spinner Sunil Narine will have to undergo another test for his suspected bowling action (in Chennai) if he has to feature in the eight season of Indian Premier League (IPL).

Dalmiya said:

“I’ve spoken to them (KKR management), he has to appear for the test again. Be it once or twice.”

Narine was banned by BCCI for suspect action before the final of the 2014 CLT20, which Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won by 8 wickets against the IPL 7 champions KKR. Later, the mystery spinner opted out of the ICC World Cup 2015 as he was tentative about his action and said that he needed time to work on it. Natine then went back to the nets to remodel his action and was cleared by the ICC after a bio-mechanical test in Loughborough.

However, BCCI has refused to accept the ICC report and insisted that the off-spinner has to undergo another round of testing as KKR are apparently mulling legal route.

KKR begin their IPL 8 campaign against Rohit Sharma lead Mumbai Indians on April 8th at Eden Gardens.
