Top Five Batsmen With Most Runs In T20 Cricket

Making runs in T20 format is the toughest task in the game of cricket, as the batsmen hardly get any time to pace their innings. However, few have mastered the shortest format and has piled up runs even in the 20-over game.

Here we look at top five batsmen who have managed to score the most number of runs in T20 cricket.

5. Kieron Pollard- 7087 runs

Kieron Pollard.

Known as one of the cleanest hitters of the cricket ball, the tall Caribbean is nothing short of a legend in the format, as his exuberant fielding and incredible hitting make him an asset for any team he plays for.

After gaining the attention with his incredible performances in CLT20, Pollard has established himself as a T20 star and almost plays across every big domestic T20 league apart from T20I cricket. He has amassed an unbelievable total of 7087 runs so far.


4. David Warner- 7156 runs

The big Davy Warner had kick-started his career using the T20 format before becoming a reliable player for Australian national team across all formats. He is brutal against bowlers in the powerplay which makes him one of the toughest players to bowl in this format.

The ever-consistent David Warner has managed an incredible 7156 runs in 227 T20 matches so far in his career.

3. Brad Hodge- 7338 runs

Brad Hodge.

One of the most popular T20 players of all time, Brad Hodge has played in almost every domestic T20 league over the past 15 years. He is one of the oldest and most reliable T20 stars of all time, as he is very good in his own limitations.

His ability to rotate strike and go for big hits when needed made him a key player for the huge number of teams that he represented. Hodge has so far managed 7338 runs in 256 innings and is still an active player despite being the coach of Gujarat Lions in IPL.

2. Brendon McCullum- 7524 runs

Brendon McCullum.

One of the all-time greats in T20 format, Brendon McCullum holds incredible records to his name in both international and domestic T20 leagues. The Kiwi player is still one of the most destructive players in the format despite retiring from the game a year ago.

McCullum, who has managed his best 158* in the inaugural match of IPL, has so far piled up 7524 runs in T20 cricket making him the second highest scorer of all time.

The giant West Indian Chris Gayle is a monster in the shortest format of cricket, as he is heads and shoulders above everyone else. He is one of the greatest strikers of cricket ball ever and his incredible hitting is a great sight to watch for the fans.

Having proved himself in both Tests and ODIs, Gayle has been the go-to man for any franchise since the advent of T20 cricket, as he is still a fierce striker of the cricket ball. In the game against Gujarat Lions, the southpaw became the first player ever to reach 10,000 run mark in T20 format.
