IPL 2017: Unchanged Mumbai Indians Field First; Unwell Manan Vohra Misses Out, Shaun Marsh In

Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to field first in their first contest against Kings XI Punjab at the Holkar stadium in Indore.
Rohit Sharma did not tinker with the winning combination and fielded the same playing XI for the contest.
On the other hand, there were four changes in the home team, as Shaun Marsh, Marcus Stoinis, Gurkeerat Singh Mann and Swapnil Singh made it to the playing XI.
Manan Vohra missed the crunch game, as he is not well. Other than Manan, Eoin Morgan, KC Cariappa and David Miller were the players who sat out.
The pitch for the game is expected to be the same for the three and a half hour of play but the dew might tilt the game in favour of Mumbai Indians, who will bat in the second innings.
Here is what both the captains said at the toss –
Glenn Maxwell:
“It’s a good wicket, probably would have bowled first. I don’t think the pitch will change much. Vohra is sick unfortunately and he is out. Shaun Marsh, Marcus Stoinis, Gurkeerat Mann and Swapnil Singh are playing.”
Rohit Sharma:
“We are gonna field first. We have been chasing well and the overall trend has been good. We are backing ourselves to do well again. We are playing the same squad. Getting some runs is always nice, I’m looking forward to another big game. We need to go back to our basics and do it right. We gotta give guys enough opportunities to express themselves and stick to our plans. I can’t see any reason to change the team. We have been doing well and want to take the momentum forward.”
Here is the playing XI of both the sides –
