Having won the toss, Mumbai Indians have put Kolkata to bat and the bowlers have done a great job as they manage to restrict Kolkata Knight Riders to just 107 in 18.5 overs on a difficult wicket. KKR have once shown their vulnerability in their top order as the wickets fell at regular intervals.
Ishan Jaggi and Suryakumar Yadav managed to help KKR post a total above 100 as they put up a fight against lethal Mumbai attack. The duo managed an impressive 56 run partnership before Jaggi was caught at long on by Mitchell Johnson.
The rest of the batsmen never really showed up as the Knight Riders lost the game at the end of the first innings itself. But KKR bowlers bowled their heart out in the power play overs as they reduced Mumbai Indians to just 36/3.
Rohit Sharma along with Krunal Pandya have managed to stabilize their innings from further damage as the duo managed to put up a valuable 54 run partnership. Rohit was out after a well made 26 but Krunal continued his aggression until the end as he scored 45 runs in just 30 balls which featured eight fours.
Mumbai Indians have coasted to victory in just 14.3 overs with six wickets to spare. The heavyweights will now face Rising Pune Supergiant in IPL final on Sunday. Mumbai will surely go into the game as underdogs as their local rivals have managed to get the better off them thrice this season.
The two Maharastra teams will face against each other for the fourth time and history can be created by one of the teams in Hyderabad on Sunday. A win will ensure Rising Pune Supergiant will win their maiden IPL trophy and if Mumbai Indians manage to win the game, then they will become the first side in IPL history to win the coveted trophy thrice.
