Pakistan opening batsman Fakhar Zaman entered the record books as the southpaw became overall the sixth batsman in world cricket to score One-day International double century.

There have been eight occasions when a batsman has scored a double century in ODI’s. However, in the case of a certain Rohit Sharma, he already boats of three double tons in ODI cricket his name.

The first to reach the landmark was none other than Sachin Tendulkar. The others in the elite list feature include swashbuckling Virender Sehwag, Chris Gayle and Martin Guptill.

Pakistan, who has played some brilliant cricket in the recent past posted a mammoth total of 399 in their allotted 50 overs during the fourth ODI on Friday (July 20).

The Men Green have been simply superb in the series and carried on from their previous victory.

Zaman scored 210 off 156 deliveries which included 24 fours and five sixes. He looked in brilliant touch from the outset and kept smashing the Zimbabwe bowlers all around the park.

Well, the southpaw struck some exceptional shots square of the wicket which got Fakhar going. He was beaten quite a few times in the initial stages.

Fakhar smashed a double ton:

However, he gained in confidence as the innings progressed. Boundaries started coming thick and fast as Pakistan applied the pressure on the Zimbabwe bowling attack.

And it was sensational hitting by Zaman, who was instrumental behind Pakistan’s triumphant journey in the ICC Champions Trophy, last year. The southpaw was simply superb and the opposition bowlers went in search of the leather.

The boundaries came thick and fast for Pakistan as they neared a well-deserved 400-run mark. Zaman was the top scorer without a doubt. Asif Ali added the late impetus with 22-balls 50.

Fakhar Zaman in all likelihood will bag the Man of the Match courtesy his brilliance in the shorter format of the game. His double century helped the Men in Green to posted a mammoth total on the board.
