The Indian ace paceman will undergo rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy and he will be monitored by the Board of Control for Cricket in India medical team.
Big blow for India.
“He will now undergo rehabilitation at NCA and will be monitored by the BCCI Medical Team,” the board stated in a release on Tuesday (September 24).
On the other hand, Umesh Yadav was not picked in the initial squad for the Indian team. Yadav had played his last Test match for India against Australia in which he had scalped two wickets. However, he had gone wicketless in the second essay.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah has made a roaring start to his Test career. In fact, Bumrah has not played a single Test match in the home conditions. The Test series against the Proteas would have been his maiden home assignment in the Test fold but it wasn’t to be the case. Thus, Bumrah will need to wait longer to make his home debut in the red ball version.
Bumrah was the pick of the Indian bowlers on the West Indies as he had scalped 13 wickets in two Test matches. The gun pacer has had a fine start as he has taken 62 wickets in 12 Test matches.

Saying "minor" is a funny one with any back stress fracture. That's a minimum of 12 weeks before he can bowl again https://t.co/dQxYFOtaSJ

Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of the three-match test series against South Africa, Umesh Yadav replaces him. Bumrah has to wait more time to play a test match in India.

#JaspritBumrah absence will give a boost to a fragile South African batting order but India is still hands down favorite because of @ashwinravi99 and @imjadeja , in the last series Indian spinners were so dominant that India won 3-0
