Twitterati go berserk after Gautam Gambhir smashed two consecutive sixes on return

Ever since Virat Kohli confirmed Gautam Gambhir’s return to the playing eleven, the southpaw became the talking point among the cricket fans across the country. And why not? After all, the man who became the darling of this cricket-crazy nation after starring in two world cup finals was returning to action after a two-year hiatus.
He was included in the Indian squad after KL Rahul suffered a hamstring injury during the first Test match at Kanpur. However, Shikhar Dhawan got the nod ahead of him to open in the second match. But his chances of playing the third match became strong after Dhawan was ruled out of the series after suffering an injury.
Fans around the country were extremely happy to see Gambhir making his way into the middle with Murali Vijay and the southpaw did not disappoint as he made a blazing start. He played his last Test match way back in August 2014 but he rarely showed any nerves early on. He made a huge statement by smashing New Zealand pacer Matt Henry for two consecutive sixes in just the fourth over of the match. But his promising innings came to an end when he was dismissed LBW by Trent Boult after scoring 29 runs off 53 balls. He also hit three 4 during his brief stay at the wicket.
The fans would have definitely wanted him to score big but they were absolutely delighted with the two sixes.
Here is how Twitterati reacted to Gambhir’s innings:
Can someone pls tell Gauti that he is playing a test match not IPL for KKR:)

A stunning four and two consecutive sixes. Gautam Gambhir does not look like a batsman making a comeback in the national squad. #IndvNZ
