The injury of Shannon Gabriel in the first Test made way for the uncapped speedster Miguel Cummins, who has been called as a replacement to the West Indies squad for the final two Tests of the series against Australia, according to the West Indian Cricket Board (WICB).

Shannon Gabriel injured his left ankle last week during the 1st Test defeat of an innings and 212 runs by the hands of Australia in Hobart. He has therefore been ruled out of the remaining two Tests, scheduled to take place in Melbourne and Sydney.

The right-arm pace bowler Miguel Cummins, 25, has represented his country just once in a One Day match and his first-class records states that he has taken 99 wickets at an average of 22.83 in 36 outings.

While West Indies play a tour match against Victoria in Geelong starting on Saturday before the MCG Test on December 26, some upbeat Australian players would be busy rendering their services to their respective clubs in the Big Bash League.

The home team would be looking to secure a series whitewash after their last match against the Caribbean boys was too easy for them, with the match ending in just 3 days.
