There has been a lot of controversy around Yuvraj Singh from quite a few days. His father and former Indian player Yograj Singh, during an interview with India News, blasted MS Dhoni that it is because of his personal issues (with Yuvraj) that is keeping the Indian southpaw out of the international team. Yograj also cursed Dhoni by saying that there will be a day when he will be left to beg and become penniless and would not get any favour.

But time and again, Yuvraj has told media that he has got nothing to do with his father’s statements and has enjoyed playing under Dhoni and would continue to do so in future. To an extent, it can be believed that he has no role in his father’s statements, but something is surely there which is not keeping Yuvraj in best of his spirits. The interview below with Shoaib Akhtar (after the match against KXIP on April 15th) describes the same:

Akhtar: You still have 4-5 years of international cricket left in you.

Yuvraj: Unfortunately, some people here don’t think so.

His statement is not that controversial but it can become as even we don’t know to whom is he referring to. It could be those Indian fans who think that Yuvraj Singh is done with international cricket or maybe there is something else. But regardless of everything, Yuvraj should focus on performing well in IPL so that he could earn a comeback to the international arena.

Last night, he played a matured innings against Kings XI Punjab and lead Delhi Daredevils to their first victory of IPL 8. But if he performs well throughout the IPL, will that earn him a place in the side for Bangladesh tour? Well, only the time will answer that.
