Mayank Agarwal on his performance
Mayank feels delightful that he has scored another century. He is glad that he is contributing to the team. He opines that the team is doing well and everything is going right for the team.
“Very happy that I could get back-to-back hundreds, that’s a good feeling. The team is in a good position, winning the toss, batting first and with one batsman short, it’s a good thing to make runs.”
Mayank said that the South African bowlers were bowling with good technique which also halted the player to score runs. He had to play with the strategy so that he not gets out.
“There were periods when runs weren’t coming easily, they bowled good spells, tight spells and didn’t let us score.
He shares his mantra of playing a long spell in the field. He said that meditations and running help the player to maintain his consistency in the field. Mayank Agarwal also expresses that mental discipline is a must to play Test cricket.
“Plenty of long-distance running, meditation and working on my game (on his approach towards batting), some of the things I could so, some I couldn’t, it was always about mental discipline.”
Only Kagiso Rabada was successful in taking wickets on the first day. No spinners were able to take the wickets. It is a crucial Test match for both the teams as it will much decide about the series.
