When AB de Villiers is in his element, there is absolutely no stopping him. His amazing capability to come up with different shots for every possible delivery makes him the most destructive batsman of modern day cricket. Very few bowlers in the World can dominate the South African batting star.
Currently, plying his trade for Barbados Tridents in the Caribbean Premier League, he was nastily hit by a bouncer. In the match against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, the South African great was rattled with a bouncer from Alzarri Joseph that clattered into the grill on his helmet. But de Villiers recovered quickly and retaliated in the best possible way by hitting Joseph’s next ball for the maximum.
Meanwhile, de Villiers’ second half-century in three matches helped his team to beat St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 25 runs at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown and register their second win this season. With this win, they have now moved to the second spot in the points table, ahead of Jamaica Tallawahs.
Batting first Barbados Trident scored 180 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. De Villers was their highest scorer with 82 runs off just 54 balls. Nicholas Pooran and Keiron Pollard too chipped in with useful innings.
St Kitts fell 25 runs short in the chase, despite impressive batting from their captain Faf du Plessis (42 off 34) and Jonathan Carter (46 off 38).
