It has really been a funny month for cricket fraternity as for the second time in past one month a game has to been stopped due to unusual reasons. First, it was the excessive sunlight which was the reason for the interruption and this time it is the attack by the swarm of bees that forced the game to be paused for a short period.

The incident involved the New Zealand team who is currently on a tour of Zimbabwe and South Africa. They were playing a tour match against Zimbabwe A in Harare where the incident took place.

A swarm of bees attacked the playing area which left the players reclining. The match was paused for some moment due to this unexpected attack as players were finding it difficult to play while surrounded by bees.

The match was only resumed when the bees were evicted from the ground. Soon after that New Zealand bowlers took no time and packed Zimbabwe A on a total of 114 runs. New Zealand team batted again and set up a target of 433 runs for Zimbabwe A which they failed to chase.

This is not the first time that the play has been interrupted due to the invasion of bees as we saw the same scenes in the year 2008 when bees interrupted the contest between Indian and Australia at Feroz Shah Kotla ground. All the players except Ishant Sharma and both the umpired lied down to prevent themselves from the touch of the bee. The match was resumed when the swarm passed the playing area.

The funny incident still brings a smile on our faces the incident involved some of the veterans cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Anil Kumble, Mathew Hayden etc. The famous umpire Billie Bowden was also part of it.
