Debutante Sri Lankan spinner sent a shockwave into the Australian dressing room in the first innings of Australia. Sandakan has taken four wickets in the first innings.
In reply to Sri Lanka’s first innings total 117 runs, Australia were all out for 203 in their first innings. Rangana Herath and Sandakan took four wickets each.
Sri Lanka in the second innings with the help of Kusal Mendis’s 176
gave Australia a 268-run target.
Australia commencing the chase, lost David Warner and then Joe Burns was bamboozled by Sandakan’s delivery which spun a mile to clean him up. The turn Sandakan got, sent a shockwave to Australian dressing room. At the end of day four, Australia are batting at 83 for 3.
On the fifth day, spinners are bound to make it hard on Aussie batters as the visitors need more than 180 runs to win with only 7 wickets in hand. It will be interesting to watch the battle between Australian batsmen and Sri Lankan spinners tomorrow.
