It seems like India fast-bowler Mohammed Shami, who is nursing a knee injury, is yet to regain full fitness as the 26-year-old pacer has not been included in the 16-member Bengal squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2016/17. Shami suffered an injury during the Test series against England and went onto to miss last two Tests and limited-overs series as well.
There was a news that he might return to India’s Test squad for the series against Australia but was left out.
Manoj Tiwary will lead the Bengal squad. The India U-19 players Ishan Porel and Kanishk Seth have also been included in the squad while Anustup Majumdar, who switched to Railways a few years back, returns for his home side.
