Vijay Hazare trophy popularly known as Ranji one day trophy is to begin across the country on Februry 27 this year. Delhi, the champion of last year, has won the trophy beating Assam in the final.

The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has created the list of 40 probable players. They are chosen under the supervision of chairman Chetan Chauhan. Gautam Gambhir has been selected as the captain for the last year Vijay Hazare Champion team. Apart From Gambhir, Virender Sehwag , left arm pacer Ashish Nehra and gangly fast bowler Ishant Sharma are another stars of the team.

Sanjeez Sharma has been appointed as the new coach of the team. Delhi is going to start their campaign against Jammu & Kashmir on February 27.

Saurabh Tiwary is going to lead the Jharkhand team. Jharkhand will open its campaign against Tripura on March 1 here.

The east-zone matches were initially scheduled to be held in Agartala,now were shifted to Ranchi.

India discard bowler Irfan Pathan is working hard on his fitness and hopes to perform well for Baroda.

“I have been working with my physio on good programmes. I am fit and played three Ranji matches for Baroda this season. I pray to God that I stay fit in the upcoming domestic one-day matches,” Pathan told reporters at a promotional event here.

Baroda will start their campaign against Mumbai in their opening game on February 27.

Manoj Tiwary is now recovering from his knee injuries and ready to play for Benagal. Tiwari sets his initial goal to play for Bengal with full fitness and his bigger forset is to make a comeback into Indian team.

Tiwary said that his knee injury has healed completely. “I have worked very hard on my fitness drills. Since I have been injured quite a few times, I would be cautious in future while on the field,”

All the 27 teams are now ready to bang on this limited over domestic compitition starts from 27th February.
