CoA member, Vinod Rai, has suggested a two-match ban for KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya, PTI reports. The decision came in the aftermath of the comments made by both the players on TV show #KoffeewithKaran. Their conduct, however, was not upto the mark, as a few of their remarks were below the belt. Though Hardik Pandya apologised for his misogynistic and sexist comments on the show, KL Rahul is yet to respond to the flak he had received.
Twitter world slams KL, Hardik
It was a matter the time that the show got telecasted; the Twitter world hammered the pair for their behaviour on #KoffeewitghKaran. Also, a few of the noted dignities in the game also vouched for the same.
It is all very well to issue show-cause notices now to KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya. But I do wish the BCCI spends time in sensitising these young players to life beyond the dressing room; to getting them outside the bubble that is inevitable given the adulation they get.

Meanwhile, the CoA, on Wednesday, issued a show-cause notice to both Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. Vinod Rai recently opened up about the same and said he had asked an explanation from the pair. He further added the one given by Hardik Pandya was not convincing. Also, Diana Eduji, the other member of the CoA, is yet to make a call on this; and as per Rai, her nod has been awaited before the statement gets official.
Moreover, Vinod Rai expressed his displeasure and said the comments were crass, in bad taste and unacceptable.
“I am not convinced with Hardik’s explanation and I have recommended a two-match ban for both players. However the final decision will be taken once Diana gives her go ahead,” Vinod Rai said.
“Diana has sought legal opinion whether the duo can be banned. So, obviously a decision will be taken once she gives her nod. As far as I am concerned, the comments were crass, in bad taste and unacceptable,”
India and Australia are set to face-off in the three-match ODI series, which begins on Saturday at the SCG. Meanwhile, both KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya are there in the squad.
