Kohli Ojha

Virat Kohli, who is the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper has been in woeful touch this season. In the first three matches, he has registered scores of 14, one and three and is under scanner for his poor form. With just 18 runs so far in the tournament, apart from his Super Over knock of 5 of 2, Virat Kohli has been under constant criticism for his batting antics.

Despite his poor form, RCB have registered two wins in their first three games and are currently sitting sixth in the points table. The Bangalore side’s journey in the Emirates has been decent so far but Virat Kohli’s poor run still remains an issue. RCB lost to KXIP(97 runs) but won against SRH (10 runs) and MI (Super Over).

Virat Kohli Is Confident And Has Got Nothing To Prove To Anyone: Pragyan Ojha

Former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha, however, has backed the RCB skipper to bounce back strongly. Pragyan Ojha has claimed a solid comeback from run machine Virat Kohli, considering the confidence which he possesses. Pragyan Ojha also mentioned Virat Kohli’s strong mindset when he decided to join AB de Villiers in the middle for the Super Over against Mumbai Indians which they won.

“When you talk about Virat, he has got nothing to prove to anyone. He is a very confident man. Right from the very day 1 when he came to the picture he was a very confident man and he always wanted to do it on his own,” Pragyan Ojha said on Sports Today.

“He is the person who is always there. ‘I’m the one who is going to do it for his country, for my team. Whichever team he plays for. And I just saw his statement when ABD said that I’m going to go out and bat in the Super Over, Virat said ‘I’m joining you boss’.”

“See that’s the confidence he carries. As a leader, when you carry that kind of confidence, it spreads a lot of positivity in your team,” added Ojha, who represented India in 24 Tests, 18 ODIs and 6 T20Is.

The left-arm orthodox spinner was also a part of IPL winning sides when he lifted the trophy once with now-defunct Deccan Chargers and twice with Mumbai Indians. He played 92 matches and picked 89 wickets at 26.2.

Pragyan Ojha Mentions That A Player Has To Perform Well When He Is Playing With A Champion Player Like Virat Kohli

Pragyan Ojha further also shed light on Virat Kohli’s aggressive instinct while captaining a team. When a player is playing with Virat Kohli, he has to be at the top of his game and perform well according to expectations, opined Pragyan Ojha. All eyes will be on Virat Kohli to deliver with the bat during RCB’s next IPL 2020 fixture. They are slated to face Rajasthan Royals next on 3rd October at Abu Dhabi.

“At times you have that match pressure then again when you see the captain being little more aggressive. Sometimes few players, they’re not comfortable. But you know when you’re playing with a champion player, he expects you to be at the top, always performing really well,” he said.
