The presence of former Indian National Cricket team skipper MS Dhoni has been a huge help to Virat Kohli in the limited overs format. Dhoni has time and again help Kohli, and the current skipper has also agreed to the benefit of having the legendary skipper in his team. And now, Dhoni’s childhood coach Keshav Banerjee has also echoed the same words saying that Dhoni is the perfect mentor for young Kohli.
With the ICC World Cup 2019 round the corner, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli will have to work in tandem if they want to bring the trophy home. The Men in Blues boast three skippers in their lineups – Dhoni, Kohli, and Rohit Sharma who will be a massive advantage going to the marquee event. Captain Cool’s presence at the back of the wicket will be a huge plus point for the current captain and also the young bowlers.

Keshav Banerjee said that MS Dhoni’s tactical accuracy is unparalleled and that the wicket-keeper is the perfect guide for Kohli when it comes to reading the game and making strategic moves.
“In game reading and tactical approach, there is no one like Dhoni and Kohli also does not have that. So, Kohli can always fall back on Dhoni if he wants to take any advice. If he would not have been part of the Indian team, there would be nobody to help Kohli as he needs time as captain,” the coach said.

Dhoni should bat at 4
Meanwhile, there has been a lot of speculations about MS Dhoni’s batting position. While many thought the veteran should bat at four, many thought that the experienced batsman should bat at five. However, Virat Kohli admitted that they will use Dhoni as a floater going by the situations. Keshav Banerjee feels that his ward should bat at the second drop as he will get time to set his eye in.
“When he bats at No. 4, he takes time as he has time. When he bats at No. 5 or 6, he has to hit from the word go as runs are needed after all. Then he has to take risks. I feel Dhoni should bat at no. 4 in the World Cup,” he concluded.
