Former fast bowler Javagal Srinath, who is an International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee now, has applauded Virat Kohli on Tuesday for generating a place for himself in the Indian cricket domain.
The best thing in Virat which has appealed Srinath most is that Virat has created a distinct place and he has not been distinguished with Sachin Tendulkar or Rahul Dravid. “Virat has done unusually well for himself. He is such a fantastic player. Nobody distinguishes him with Sachin or Dravid. He has found his place in Indian cricket.” Srinath said in the interim of intercommunication at Gillete’s Men of Inner Steel initiative.
On the other hand, Venkatesh Prasad, who used to be the long-time partner of Srinath, has praised the former Indian Captain Sunil Gavaskar, who is the interim president of the BCCI, appointed by the Court. He acclaimed Gavaskar as the ‘real Man of Steel’.
“I believe Mr. Gavaskar is the real Man of Steel. He has gone the entire way of the international cricket for 15 years and has experienced some of the real fast bowlers without any helmet. He is a great leader and justifies leading the BCCI.” Prasad stated.
Another former Indian captain Ajit Wadekar, under whose captaincy Gavaskar has scrolled his Test debut, has consonant with Prasad and believes that his fellow teammate is a perfect epitome.
“Sunny is a great role model. He is quite and amiable and the perfect man to lead Indian cricket,” he said.
