Current Indian captain Virat Kohli has been given the command of the ICC Men’s Test Team of the Decade which is decorated with the best Test cricketers of the world. International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the team on Sunday (December) 27.
Alastair Cook, who retired from international cricket in 2018, is one of the greatest Test openers that the cricket world has witnessed. Thus, his position as the opener in the Test Team of the Decade is unquestionable. His opening partner is David Warner, who is the current best opener for Australia. Following him is Kane Williamson, who is the epitome of patience and calmness, which is required to reach the top level of Test cricket.

The captain of the elite team, Virat Kohli, is placed at number four position, which is his usual position to bat on in extended format. He has 7318 runs, including 27 centuries and 23 half-centuries, in 87 Tests.
David Warner’s national teammate Steve Smith has also found the place at number five. Currently, he is also the number one in ICC Men’s Test batting rankings.
Ravichandran Ashwin only Indian bowler in ICC Men’s Test Team of the Decade:

The position which is being questioned is of the wicketkeeper-batsman in the Test Team of the decade. It has been given to former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara but many believe the current New Zealand wicketkeeper BJ Watling was the deserving candidate.
For the allrounder’s position, England’s star cricketer Ben Stokes has been included. The highlight of his Test career was his Ashes innings in Headingly where he single-handedly took the team to victory against Australians at home.
India’s veteran bowler Ravichandran Ashwin is the lone spinner in the team while Dale Steyn alongside two premier pacers James Anderson and Stuart Board are in the fast bowling department.
