Pacer Shardul Thakur‘s contribution of 17* runs was significant in registering the victory in the third ODI. He removed the pressure from India’s shoulder, infusing it on the visitor’s Windies. Virat Kohli, who lost his wicket before taking the team to the finishing point, was pumped up seeing the lower order batsman Shardul Thakur’s crucial knock.
Both the openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul scored the half-centuries but can not convert it into triple-digit. The aggressive captain Virat Kohli took the command of the game after the openers lost their wickets, but he didn’t get the support from the middle order. Shreyas Iyer (7) and Rishabh Pant (7) lost their wickets on the over of Keemo Paul. The allrounder Kedar Jadhav also departed early, scoring 9 runs.

Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja gave stability to the team setting up a small partnership before the captain lost the wicket. The allrounder Ravindra Jadeja had the pressure as the team needed 30 runs. Pacer Shardul Thakur came to the crease but nobody had higher expectations from the lower-order batsman. Well, it was unbelievable as he started firing the boundaries all over the ground.
Virat Kohli impressed on Shardul Thakur’s banging
Virat Kohli was nervous when he was dismissed by Keemo Paul in the 47th over. However, Jadeja and Thakur didn’t lead the effort of the captain in vain. The game-changer over was of the Sheldon Cottrell when India needed 22 from 18 balls.
Thakur struck a six and a four on the third and fourth ball respectively, Cottrell giving two extras, in total, 17 runs came from the pacer’s over. Seeing, Thakur’s maximum, Kohli got the confidence, jumping with joy in confidence.

India registered the victory in the third game, winning the ODI series with 2-1. The Men in Blue won the last series of 2019 and will be back in the action from January next year.
