According to Gentlemen quarterly magazine based in New York, the Indian test skipper Virat Kohli has been named in the top 50 young Indian influentials. The list includes from various industries including film stars, actors, sportspersons. They are all below 40 years of age.
Virat Kohli has been a role model for youngsters. He was the leading runs scorer in the ICC World T20 Cup and Indian Premier League 9 season. His contributions has helped Indian team to reach the semi-finals of the ICC World T20 Cup held in March- April this year.
He has lots of followers on social media as he was a most followed player in IPL 9. In IPL 9 he scored 973 runs with 4 centuries.
In the list of top 50 young Indian influentials, Sunil Chettri, Ranveer Singh , Benyal Dayal have been included in the list.
His performance in international cricket has been worth seeing. He has scored 23 centuries in ODI cricket and also was awarded two man of the series in successive T20 World Cups.
His attitude on the field shows that he wants to win every match. His ability to play cricketing shots makes him one of the best players in modern day cricket.
He was named in the list of top 100 athletes in the World ESPN fame athletes. He was listed at number 8 in that list which was followed by MS Dhoni.
His success in international cricket has made him popular on the field and also on social media. He has also defeated Messi as the marketable player in the world.

The cricketing world has also compared him with Sachin Tendulkar which is not fair enough.
