The former aggressive Indian opener and two times triple centurion, Virender Sehwag has joined former Indian cricketers Kirti Azad and Bishan Singh Bedi in their struggle against corruption prevailing in the state association i.e. DDCA. Both Kirti Azad and Bishan Singh Bedi are fighting a long-long fight against this corruption and now the addition of Sehwag in their campaign will boost their confidence and morale as Sehwag is presence will bring media attention which will further pressurise the state association.
Both Azad and Bedi are raising this issue from a long time, Azad was even shown the doors by his political party B.J.P for speaking against the former president of DDCA Arun Jaitley who is now the finance minister of India. Azad was blaming Jaitely for all the irregularities as Jaitely was president of state association at that time.
Though Sehwag did not spoke anything at the event but his presence was enough to boost the confidence of other and to attract media houses.
The event was also attended by the former Indian hockey captain Zafar Iqbal who played a crucial role in Indian team winning gold at 1980 Olympics. Gautam gamer and Kapil Dev were also supposed to be part of the event but could not make it due to personal commitments.
This is not the first time when Sehwag is coming forward to remove corruption as in the year 2009 he insisted on leaving Delhi as he was unable to tolerate corruption in the association. He even asked for N.O.C. from the state association. Though Arun Jaitely stopped him from doing so after having a meeting with him. Sehwag finally left the association in the year 2015 to play for Haryana to fulfil his promise he made to Haryana cricket association Chief Anirudh Choudhary.
