Amit Mishra is one individual who gives his 100% for his team. The leg-spinner has found tremendous success for India, but agonizingly, he has always been underutilized and doesn’t get the chances he truly deserves. Along with international cricket, Mishra also is extremely successful in the IPL, as he has three hat-tricks to his name.
The leg spinner is one of the leading wicket-takers in the IPL and he now gears up to excel for the Delhi Daredevils. Along with the South African Imran Tahir, Mishra can form a lethal duo for the Delhi Daredevils, as the two are genuine wicket takers. Ahead of his 100th IPL game, Mishra spoke to the press, and said that he aimed to be in the top 10 wicket takers in this edition of the IPL.
“I want to be in the top 10 wicket-takers this season,” said Mishra. “Delhi haven’t done well in the last two years and we want to finish in the top-four and we are looking to start that journey from here in Delhi. We’ve been working hard and you can judge that from our practice sessions,” the leg-spinner added.
“We will have a positive approach,” Mishra said. “The preparations are going on well. We have been working hard at the nets. We are confident and we want to do well. A few matches may not go our way initially but we are going to go all out with an aggressive approach,” explained the Daredevils spinner.
Speaking about Daredevils’ mentor Rahul Dravid, Mishra said, “Rahul Dravid is a great player and respected by all. He shares his experiences and tells the batsmen what shots to play while keeping their styles and what suits their style of play. He tells the bowlers to go for the wickets, be positive and not worry about going for runs,” Mishra added. “I can’t say about Indian team, but Dravid has been a good coach (for us). He gives a lot of space to all and never speaks anything negative to any player. Everyone is very happy to have him around. Everyone respects him a lot,” Mishra said.
