Watch: Bowler Leaves Umpire Stunned With His Bizarre Bowling Action

There is absolutely no denying that the game of cricket has tilted pretty much in batsmen’s favour.  The rules are heavily loaded in favour of the batsmen at the cost of the bowlers. Bigger bats, fielding restrictions, flat pitches have pretty much made cricket batsmen’s game. Moreover, the batsmen have become fearless and have devised several new shots like the scoop, switch hit and others to score quickly.

Bowlers, on their part, don’t have to do. And while the majority just rely on swing, spin and pace to get the better of the batsmen, there are handful who go the extra mile and come up with unusual actions or strategy to get the work done for themselves. Who can forget South Africa spinner Paul Adams’ bowling action. The left arm chinaman spin bowler from South Africa probably had the most wicked bowling action ever. In fact, Mike Gatting had described him as the ‘frog in a blender’.

In recent years, the likes of Sohail Tanvir, the lesser-known Shivil Kaushik, Jasprit Bumrah have caught the eyes with their unusual bowling action. And recently another such bowling action was witnessed. But unlike the others, this bowler did not get the luxury of continuing with that action as the umpire declared his delivery ‘dead’.

Legendary spinner Bishan Singh Bedi took to Twitter to post the video of that bowling action, writing:

“Weirdo…!! Have a close look..!!”

Just before releasing the ball, the bowler turned completely before rolling over the arms. And while the batsman comfortably defended the ball, the umpire called it a dead ball. The bowling team, however, was not impressed with the decision as the players were seen having a lengthy discussion with him.
