Virat Kohli was involved in a furious exchange of words with Jonny Bairstow on day three of the ongoing Test between India and England at Edgbaston.
No matter what the situation is, Virat Kohli just loves to show the aggressive side of his personality on the field. The former India skipper was once again at his animated best at the start of third day’s play against England at Edgbaston.
With fast-bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami testing Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow with their fast and accurate bowling, Kohli decided to get under Bairstow’s skin.
The incident took place in the 32nd over of England’s first innings when Bairstow was facing Shami. On the first ball of the over, Bairstow went for a drive but was beaten completely by Shami’s incoming delivery.
And soon after the delivery, Kohli started walking towards Bairstow from the slip cordon. Both the players then exchanged a few words before Kohli got animated and looked furious as he kept speaking. At one stage, he even put his finger on his lips as if he was asking Bairstow to stay quiet.
Kohli nearly had the last laugh when Bairstow played a wild shot on the following delivery and completely missed it. Even after that delivery, Kohli tried to taunt Bairstow as he was seen laughing at his missed shot.

India in command:
As far as the match is concerned, India are in a strong position at the moment. At the time of compiling this report, England were on 146 for 5. Earlier in the match, India had reduced England to 83 for 5 before Stokes and Bairstow steadied the ship.
Before England, India did well with the bat as they posted a massive total of 416. They had also started disastrously with the bat and were reeling at 98 for 5 before centuries from Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja propelled them to a good total.
