Watch: Rashid Khan Takes A Hat-Trick Against Sydney Sixers In BBL

Afghanistan’s leg-spinner Rashid Khan is one of the best spinners in the shortest format of the game. The talisman was once again at his best as he claimed a hat-trick in the ongoing Big Bash League. The leggie took a hat-trick while playing for Adelaide Strikers against Sydney Sixers in the 27th match of the tournament. Rashid Khan got the better of James Vince as he bowled a perfect leg-spinner to induce an outside edge.

Subsequently, the leg-spinner was able to get rid of Jack Edwards with the wrong one. Rashid plumbed the right-hander in front of the wickets to sent him back for a golden duck. The leg-spinner got these two wickets on the last two balls of the 11th over.

The leg-spinner was at his best.

Rashid was on a hat-trick on the first ball of the 13th over and bowled a perfect goggly to bamboozle Jordan Silk. The leg-spinner was able to find the gap between the bat and ball to shatter the stumps and took a fine hat-trick.

Thus, Rashid helped Adelaide Strikers stay in the contest. However, Rashid’s efforts went in vain as Strikers lost the match by two wickets. The linchpin spinner finished with four wickets and conceded only 22 runs in his quota of four overs.

Meanwhile, Adelaide Strikers posted an under-par score of 135 runs after Sydney Sixers skipper Daniel Hughes won the toss and decided to bowl first. Jake Weatherald was the top-scorer for Strikers as the southpaw opener scored 47 runs. However, no other batsman was able to get going.

Tom Curran also scalped four wickets and gave away 22 runs in the 3.4 overs he bowled. Curran also scored a crucial knock of 21 runs to help Sixers chase down the target with two wickets to spare. Birthday boy Josh Hazlewood took one wicket and scored 12 runs from three balls.
