In a recent video interview, Virender Sehwag revealed the reaction of his ‘Home Minister,’ wife Aarti Sehwag after his recent project with Bollywood actress Sunny Leone.
Every husband is liable for answers if the wife demands. Being a cricketing superstar with millions of following makes no change in this equation. Sehwag’s case is also the same.
“She knows perfectly well about all my projects and programmes. We have been married for long, she doesn’t bother much about these things. Yes, she inquires for sure.”
He also spoke about how Sachin Tendulkar helped him overcome his superstitious thinking.
Sehwag would religiously follow the weekly fasting ritual which required individuals to stay away from non-vegetarian food on specific days of the week. But, after meeting Sachin, he noticed that his idol performed seamlessly without practising such rituals as opposed to his poor string of showings on days when was fasting especially. This fact felt amusing to him and soon Sachin clarified his mind with the simple piece of advice.
Sehwag recalled Tendulkar telling him that,
“If you do good work, good will follow. If you do bad, bad will follow (sic).”
Sehwag was gifted a red handkerchief by his mother when he started out at the international cricket in 2001. The red handkerchief was believed to ward off the evil and protect the cricketer.
Sehwag also added that his all-time favourite captain is Sourav Ganguly but his favourite player will always be Sachin Tendulkar. At the end of the interview, he was asked about his ‘two-line’ CV for the post of coach of Indian team. His answer?
“Agar mera CV do line ka hota, to naam hi kaafi tha, Virender Sehwag (If I were to send a two-line CV, my name, Virender Sehwag, would be sufficient.)”
Biopics are the flavour of the season. So, when asked about Sehwag’s plans for a feature-length movie based on his life, he revealed that he wants Madhuri Dixit for the role.
He also highly rated Anil Kumble’s tenure as coach and suggested that an Indian coach is always better than an outsider.
“The understanding is better if a coach has played with me as a player,” added Sehwag.
The above-mentioned thing is just a snippet.
