Watch: Trent Boult Castles MS Dhoni With A Gem Of A Delivery

Any hopes of seeing India’s batting revival in the ongoing fifth ODI after the disastrous performance in the fourth ODI is fast fading away. India were all out for just 92 in the fourth ODI with Trent Boult being the wrecker-in-chief. The left-arm pacer had taken 5 for 21 to help New Zealand thrash India by 8 wickets. But hopes were high from the team after the ever-reliable MS Dhoni returned to the playing eleven after missing the last two games due to injury.
However, Dhoni too could not change the team’s fortunes as India suffered yet another top-order collapse. The former India skipper lasted just 5 balls, scoring 1 before being cleaned up by a gem of a delivery from Boult. The left-arm pacer bowled an inswinger that moved late and Dhoni paid the price for not moving his feet at all. Dhoni was not looking confident right from the time he had come to the crease before Boult ended his painful stay at the crease with a stunning delivery. With Dhoni not managing to make any contact with the ball whatsoever, it went past the inside edge and crashed into the woodwork.

India, meanwhile, were reeling at 18 for 4 when Dhoni departed. Rohit Sharma’s decision to bat first has turned out to be a regrettable one so far with New Zealand bowlers all over India. Matt Henry gave the Kiwis the early breakthrough by castling Rohit Sharma before Boult accounted for Shikhar Dhawan to reduce India to 12 for 2. Highly-rated Shubman Gill failed to, scoring just 7 before Dhoni returned to the pavilion too. India, nonetheless, have already sealed the series after winning the first three games.
