Well Done BCCI President: Fans React After Sourav Ganguly Calls Hardik Pandya ‘Pandu’ In His Tweet

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has caused quite a stir on Twitter with his congratulatory tweet for Team India following the third and final ODI against England on Sunday (July 17).

India’s tour of England came to an end in fine fashion as they thrashed the hosts by 5 wickets in the final ODI to win the series. Prior to the ODIs, the Test series had ended at 2-2 while the T20I series had ended at 2-1 in India’s favour.

India chased down 260 runs in the series-decider in Manchester. The Men in Blue were off to a disastrous start as England had them reeling at 38 for 3 and then 72 for 4. Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya then joined hands to not only bail India out of trouble but also laid the foundation for the win.

Pant and Pandya mixed caution with aggression to revive India’s chase. They added 133 runs for the fifth wicket before Brydon Carse ended Pandya’s knock. Pandya scored 71 off just 55 balls with the help of 10 boundaries.

Pant, on the other hand, went on to smash his maiden ton in ODIs and shared an unbeaten stand of 56 runs with Ravindra Jadeja to take India home in the 43rd over. He remained unbeaten on 125 off 113 balls.

Sourav Ganguly praises Team India:

Before the heroics with the bat, Hardik Pandya had starred with the ball too. The allrounder picked up 4 wickets for just 24 runs to help India bowl out the hosts for 259.

Following the game, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly took to Twitter to congratulate Team India. He mentioned Rahul Dravid, Rohit Sharma, Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli in his tweet before singling out Pant and Pandya.
