Whoever panics will lose today’s match: Suresh Raina

Raj / 31 May 2014

Suresh Raina, after playing a few masterful innings, has emerged as one of the key players for his team Chennai Super Kings. Apart from being a timely contributor – especially in the need of hour – Raina is also an outstanding fielder. He is among the fittest cricketers. Having so many records under his belt, Raina looks confident of excelling in the upcoming match against the capable competitor Kings XI Punjab. This is going to be a crucial match for both the teams as the winner qualifies for the final.

Raina said, “It was a blessing in disguise (to not finish in the top 2). In this format you need to focus more on your strengths, look at your team and see what you need to do. The positive for Kings XI is that they just come and play they have no time to think (about what needs to be done). We have one more day to analyse our strengths, our game. Whoever panics is going to lose the battle.”

He also praised his coach Stephen Fleming, saying, “It was a masterstroke by Fleming to persist with Faf at the top. He has been batting really well in the last couple of games and he was unfortunately run out in one game. In this game too, he was batting really well and he had a great partnership with Dwayne Smith at the top.”
