Will Pucovski, who has been one of the most talking points ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21, has deactivated his social media handles to ignore outer voices and remain mentally fit for his first international assignment.
After his extraordinary stint for the Victoria team in Sheffield Shield, Will Pucovski earned the maiden call from Australia’s national team for the high-level Test series against India in December. Several Australian greats, including Michael Clarke and Ian Chappell, have recommended him to be in the playing XI in place of Joe Burns as an opener. Burns had a disappointing summer season while Pucovski has performed brilliantly in the domestic season, scoring back to back a double century in Sheffield Shield.
But the youngster doesn’t want all the discussion about him to take a toll on him. For mental stability and to focus on his preparation, he has cut off all connections from social media.
Will Pucovski keeps himself away from social media distraction:

Will Pucovski stated that he wanted to stay away from the media hype and him being projected as the ‘big bat-off’. He feels that his batting is in a good place and want to continue in the same way for which he has kept himself away from distractions.
“It’s a bit of a media build-up, to be honest, the big bat-off thing. All I can really control is how I go about it in my preparation and then obviously in the game, so I feel like my batting’s in a really good place. I’m off a lot of social media, so that makes it a lot easier,” he said
“You can’t get tagged on Twitter and stuff if you don’t have the app, so that’s been a pretty easy one for me,” Pucovski was quoted as saying to the reporters on Friday, November 13.

The opening Test gets underway on December 17 at the Adelaide Oval. Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane are the hosts for the other three Tests. India’s tour also consists of three ODIs and as many T20Is.
