On Friday, the Windies Cricket Board has named their squad for the ODI series against India. As expected, they announced the strong squad to take on Virat Kohli-led side on their home soil. Chris Gayle finds a place whole Jason Holder continues to lead the team.

The likes of Evin Lewis, Shimron Hetmyer retained their place while Sunil Ambris is unfortunate to miss out. Meanwhile, John Campbell and Roston Chase received the calls from the selectors to play ODI series against the Indian National Cricket Team.

Darren Bravo also missed from the squad while Roston Chase and Fabien Allen find a place. Carlos Brathwaite, who played a fantastic knock against New Zealand is retained while Keemo Paul also recovered from the injury.

Once again the fast bowling department looks rock solid with the mixture of youth and experienced bowlers. Oshane Thomas and Sheldon Cottrell will join Kemar Roach and the skipper Jason Holder to make things look tough for the Indian batsmen.

The major name to be missed out from the squad is Andre Russell alongside Ashley Nurse. However, the selection panel believes the current squad got the calibre to dismantle India.

“We have a mixture of some experienced and young ODI players,” said Reifer. “It is good to have Keemo, John and Roston back, and they will help to bring further balance to the team. Looking ahead to the series, I think we have a lot to build upon following the World Cup. We have retained a large number of players from the World Cup squad, so there is a lot to build on and I am looking forward to the Series,” Refier said.
