Even the levels of excitement is too high among the prisoners for the ICC World Cup. Recently, the prisoners of the Guwahati Central Jail approached the high court to seek for cable connection for televisions in jail to watch the Cricket World Cup matches and also some other sports programmes.
The former Chief Executive Member of the Dima Hasao Autonomous District Council, Mohit Hojai along with six other inmates of the prison filed a writ petition in the High Court praying for a direction to the jail authorities so that the under trail prisoners so that the get the sheer provision to enjoy the thrill and watch the ICC Cricket World Cup live on television.
Advocate, Amit Goyal filed the petition on behalf of the prisoners of the jail and he said that recreation is a must for every person and even for the prisoners to keep their minds healthy and watching sports and other forms of the game would definitely help them to a considerable extent.
The petition has been admitted by the court and the prisoners are eagerly waiting for television sets to get installed in the respective jails so that they can witness India’s further actions in the World Cup.
India has been in a winning run in this World Cup and they won each of the two matches being played so far. They are to play UAE in their third group stage match on Saturday.
