Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha are the two options the Indian team has tried after MS Dhoni has left the wicketkeeping spot vacant. In limited over formant, Rishabh Pant has been given opportunities while in the longest format, Wriddhiman Saha has donned the gloves. But in the recent past, admission of KL Rahul for the same role has questioned the place of Pant.

As the youngster surfaced with an injury, KL Rahul was given the responsibility to don the gloves. However, Rahul impressed the team management. Thus, according to the current scenario, Pant is now not the priority for the team in the limited-over format.

Shockingly, he was given chance in the Test series against New Zealand in the two-match series. Pant replaced Saha from the playing XI of Test squad during the series which India went on to lose. The decision to snub the experienced campaigner during the recently-held tour was questioned by many but it didn’t seem to affect Saha.

Many also think that Pant and Saha have a lot of competition for the place.

However, Saha has turned down all the speculations. In the recent interview, the 35-year-old revealed that both of them enjoy each other company.

“We (me and Rishabh) keep joking around. We train together and we keep talking about the game and otherwise also. He always tries to give his best. There are few things which we have had a chat about,” Saha told IANS in an interview.

The veteran also said that he has advised Rishabh where he wants to improve.

“I have told Rishabh a few things which he will try according to his comfort zone. He will try during training. It’s not like he will do it for one day and it will work. So, if he feels those things will work for him, he will try and implement them in his training,” Saha said.

Wriddhiman Saha has played 37 Test matches and scored 1238 runs while Pant has played 13 Tests and scored 814 runs.
