At the end of lunch on day 2, India is 386-8 with Wriddhiman Saha unbeaten on 56 and Ishant Sharma not out on 2. Angelo Mathews and Dushmantha Chameera where the two wicket-takers for Sri Lanka 

India, at the end of first day’s play, were 319-6 with Rohit Sharma dismissing for 79 which closed out the day. Saha remained not out on 19. Kohli and Rahul rescued India with an excellent partnership in a day which ensured India going past 300. Sri Lanka came back well picking up crucial wickets at regular intervals.

Day two began with Ashwin and Saha at the crease with Ashwin being the first one to depart for 2 runs. Ashwin played a loose drive to a good length delivery from Mathews, despite short cover being in place. Saha survived a scare as a good length delivery from Dhammika Prasad which squared him up and went on to hit the stumps and fortunately to his liking the bails weren’t off from the stumps.

Later Saha and Mishra steadied the ship and saw through India going past 350. Mishra who looked good at the crease against spin struggled big time against pace and eventually got out to a bouncing delivery from Chameera. Mishra poked at an outside off bouncing delivery from Chameera which ended his promising innings of 24.
