Virender Sehwag breaks Chris Gayle’s IPL Record

It is true that the two brilliant batsman of Team India have not been included in the current Indian cricket team but both of them are struggling hard to stake their claim in Team India with their good performances in the ongoing IPL. Yes we are referring to Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh.

Whenever Virender Sehwag is in a good form, it is not difficult for him to improve any of his record or scale a new one. The vibrant opener of Kings XI Punjab has broken a very special record while playing against Delhi Daredevils yesterday.

This happens to be a record of having most number of boundaries by any batsman in the IPL. Now with the help of his inning of 47 runs, he has got 438 boundaries to his credit in the IPL. Earlier, fire brand batting star, Chris Gayle of Royal Challengers Bangalore was holding this record with 433 boundaries in the IPL.

Now Sehwag has a figure of 332 fours and 106 sixes against his name whereas Gayle is standing in second spot with a total of 233 boundaries and 200 sixes.

But keeping in view the recent excellent form displayed by Gayle and equally good recent performance of Sehwag, it will be interesting to see as to which one of these two stalwarts will be able to keep this record against his name after the conclusion of this season of IPL.
