Yograj Singh is happy as Yuvraj recalled for the Australia tour

Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograj Singh is a happy man as his son Yuvraj Singh has been recalled to the Indian T20 team for three matches Australia tour. Yograj himself a former cricketer said that players like of his son’s calibre should not be dropped owing to a few failures.

“He (Yuvraj) has always been a very special player for India. I am not saying this because he is my son but because I have coached him. I always knew he was going to make a comeback because of the way things were going. I think the best thing that has happened to him is that both Yuvraj and Hazel are on the same level as far as fitness is concerned,” Singh was quoted by ANI.

The father of lefthanded batsman still critical of the slectors’ decision to keep Yuvi out of action for so long. “His comeback was always on the cards. When he was dropped I was very much hurt because such great players cannot be dropped just after few bad innings. You got to push them up. A player must be pushed ahead when they are going down and I wish him all the best and I hope he wins lots of matches for India,” he added.


Yuvraj has last played for India in the World T20 2014 in Dhaka. He has not been included in the 15 man squad for three matches T20 series starting on January 26. Yuvraj had been ignored for the 2015 World Cup Down Under, three match ODI series in Bangladesh and home sereis defeat to South Africa.  

Yuvraj has been included in the due to his recent form. In Vijay Hazare Trophy, in five matches  he scored 341 at an average of 85.25. His strikerate is also remarkble 103.64. In the fourt match, Yuvraj scored a 59 ball 78 while in the fifth match he scored an 83 ball 98 to win a thrillier for Punjab.
