Reliance One, led by Parthiv Patel won the DY Patil T20 Cup for 2015 after defeating CAG comprehensively by 6 wickets in the Finals. Captain Parthiv Patel, leading from front scored an unbeaten half century in the moderate chase to lead his side Reliance One to the title, at Mumbai on Saturday.

Reliance One, who were undefeated in the tournament decided to bowl first at the DY Patil stadium, Mumbai. However, CAG openers got their side off to a flyer. Swapnil Salvi & Jalaj Saxena put on a 61 stand for the first wicket in just 43 balls before Yuzvendra Chalel got Swapnil out to a return catch for 35. Couple of overs later Yusuf Pathan got rid of Saxena who scored run a ball 34.

However, CAG’s middle order batsmen failed to capitalize the start given by openers, as they could manage only 135 for 9 in 20 overs after been 78 for loss of just a wicket at half way stage. Bervesh Shetty was lone contributor other than openers as he 27 before falling in 16th over. Yuzvendra Chalel was pick of the bowlers by picking up 3 wickets.

Chasing 136 to win, Reliance lost an early wicket in form of Unmukt Chand, who got out for duck on 2nd ball of the innings by Imtiyaz Ahmed. However, Sunny Singh went on counterstrike as he smashed hat trick fours in the same over. But Imtiyaz came strong to end the blitz from Sunny, who departs for an 8-ball 19. Reliance got two more blows on following two deliveries with Rakesh Solanki getting retired hurt on the first ball he faced & even Yusuf Pathan ended his stay for just a delivery as he was caught behind.

With scorecard reading 21 for 3 in 3rd over & a batsman back in the hut being injured, burden fell on Captain Parthiv’s shoulders. He kept the momentum going by smashing fours regularly. On other end, Yogesh Nagar kept going steadily by playing anchor role. The both batsman kept rotating the strike and moved towards the target with quite ease. These both shared a stand of 97 runs in 80 deliveries before Shaurya trapped Yogesh in front for run-a-ball 48. Soon Parthiv Patel brought up his fifty in 39 balls and without any delay he finished it off with another 12 balls to go staying unbeaten on 63 of just 44 deliveries.

Reliance One team’s captain Parthiv Patel was awarded the Man of the tournament award for scoring 211 runs in 6 matches at an average of 52.75 which includes a fifty.

Earlier in the semis, which took place in the morning of the same day of finals, Reliance One defeated D.Y.Patil A in super over after the original game ended as tie. Reliance One first batted and could manage only 118 on board before getting bowled out in last over. Later, the last over bowled by Vikas Tokas costed 11 runs for Reliance One when 12 needed for D.Y. Patil A team and the match ended in Tie. In super over, Yusuf Pathan smashed a couple of fours & a six to go past the score of D.Y.Patil A team who scored 13 in the Super over.

In another semis, CAG defeated Canara Bank to enter the finale. Canara Bank got out for just 131 in their final over. However, CAG did struggle in their chase but managed to go past the target with 3 balls & 4 wickets to spare.
