Indian left-handed batsman Yuvraj Singh is unlikely to play the semifinal against West Indies tomorrow (March 31). Yuvraj Singh has suffered an ankle injury against Australia while batting and failed to recover before the West Indies match.
According to a source spinner, Pawan Negi will make his World T20 debut. There was speculation that Yuvraj will not be able to play and Ajinkya Rahane will replace him. But, given that the Wankhede pitch will not be batting friendly MS Dhoni likely to play with three spinners.
Negi, who can bat as well, will strengthen the spin attack against West Indies batsman who are traditionally weak against spinners.
Yuvraj Singh in the last match scored 21 off 18 balls but was crawling to take single. Because of Yuvraj Singh twisted ankle, Virat was finding difficult to rotate the strike rate.
However, after Yuvraj Singh’s departure MS Dhoni has built a partnership with Virat and went on to win the match six wickets and five balls to spare.
Virat was unbeaten on 82. MS Dhoni hit the winning stroke with a four .
Now, India will face West Indies Wankhedeade for a big match since 2011 World Cup final. The Indian team management is trying to make the best ever combination to beat formidable West indies, who lost the last match to Afghanistan.
