Yograj Singh, former Indian Test cricketer and father of Yuvraj Singh has been recently diagnosed with a throat cancer recently. According to Indian Express, he is currently undergoing treatment in New York , with the main intention of removing the tumour of the vocal chords after the surgery.

Earlier Yuvraj Singh also suffered  cancer and was diagnosed . He went to New York after the World Cup victory in 2011. According to reports, Yograj Singh is undergoing treatment in the same hospital , where Yuvraj had his treatment.

Yograj’s wife Satveer Kaur said: “He would often complain about throat pain and cough. But he never let us know what was going on. He would take medicines and be fine for a while. But when the problem got worse, he had to tell us.” She also thanked the almighty that the tomour was removed 20 days back . She also informed that Yograj has been advised not to talk till he recovers completely.

It is learnt that the cancer was diagnosed a month back and Yograj was taking medicines prescribed by the New York based doctor but once he developed breathlessness and coughing, the family did not take any chance and decided that the surgery will be best for him.

Yograj has also coached the latest young batting sensation, Manan Vohra . Though, he was advised not to talk, he used to text Mana and had also wished him before the finals.

Manan Vohra said that it was a wonderful feeling to get the wishes of Yograj Singh even when he was not well. He said that , he is my Guru and wished him to be fully fit soon.
