Belgian International and current Zenit Saint Petersburg star Axel Witsel has once again come out and expressed his love for Manchester United and how he expects to play in the Premier League very soon. Witsel was on United’s radar when he played for Benfica but he chose to join the Russian outfit for a fee of £32 Million in 2012.

Speaking with Bleacherreport Witsel Claimed “I have always liked Manchester United from when I was young.” Witsel also shared his fondness for the Premier League and wants to play in England one day. Witsel’s current contract with Zenit expires in 2017 and he has no desires of extending the contract further. This makes all the clubs across Europe very keen on Witsel’s signature in the coming Transfer window.

Witsel has already expressed his desires of playing for Manchester United and with presence of Marouane Fellani and Adnan Januzaj (Witsel’s international team mates) he will adapt to life in Manchester very quickly. Witsel’s strengths are his ability to break up play and make deep surging runs in to opponent’s penalty box. United are certainly looking for a player who can do these basic things right over a consistant period of time.

Witsel will fit the budget for Red Devils who are looking for a robust mid field player in the region of £30 Million but, whether they make a move on the Belgian International or not, will have to be seen especially with the likes of Michael Carrick, Marouanne Fellaini, Ander Herrera and Daley Blind already fighting for the place in United’s mid field.
