London club Arsenal was dealt a huge blow earlier this week in their pursuit of a new striker this summer.
Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy was supposedly at the top of the wish-list for Arsene Wenger this summer but with the England international now signing a new contract with the Foxes, Arsenal were left to dive into the transfer market for another star.
However, the summer is only getting tougher on Arsenal as there is every chance that they might lose one of their prized possession before the start of the next season.
Chile star Alexis Sanchez has been one of the most impressive players for the Gunners since him move to the Emirates a couple of years ago.
However, he has at times had to shoulder the responsibility of the whole team and there are rumours that he wants to leave the club this summer.
Though there was hardly any evidence for the rumours, Arsenal fans were given a shock by Italian newspaper TuttoSport.
The sports website is not usually reliable and is often not taken seriously as it has the reputation of printing stories which are interesting even though not reliable.
But the fact that the newspaper ran a story on this move on their cover page has got many fans around the world worried.
The tabloid printed a page with a picture of Sanchez frustrated in an Arsenal Jersey as eh headline read, “Sanchez, for Juve he is ideal.”
Here is the front page:
This news comes just days after the Serie A outfit lost Spanish forward Alvaro Morata who was bought by Real Madrid after triggering his buy-back clause.
Morata was superb for Juve in the last two season but his absence will dearly be felt by the Italian side who are supposedly planning to replace him with Alexis Sanchez.
However, the same newspaper ran deep into the story and mentioned that Arsenal are not willing to let their player go and that they are locked in discussions with the player for a contract extension.
There might not be any truth to this story but the fact that Juve are in for an attacker of his calibre will make Wenger uncomfortable and will need him to act quickly to chain the Chilean to the Emirates.
