Of the many new top class managers that have made a debut in the Premier League this season, one Antonio Conte has impressed everyone accustomed to the league.

With 9 points from the first 3 games, Conte’s Chelsea sit at the top of the points table after the international break and will hope to have a similar time in their next game against Watford this weekend.

Though the Blues have managed to win all three games in the league and one in the league cup, they have not looked at their convincing best in any of the games.

Diego Costa, Michy Batshuayi, Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas and N’ Golo Kante have all been in good form this season but the manager has been a bit worried about his defense going into the full season.

Though he managed to add the likes of David Luiz and Marcos Alonso to his squad, it is understood that he is worried about his center back pairing and wants to make sure that he has the right person to replace John Terry, the club legend, who has been their best defender so far this season.

Terry, 35, was about to leave the club at the end of the last season but signed a one-year contract with the club to help Conte in his debut season in the league.

However, it is now understood that Conte is on the look out for options to replace the defender for the long term.

Recent reports have suggested that Conte is keeping tabs on Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson and Burnley’s Michael Keane as targets to maintain the English influence at the heart of his defense.

Burnley’s Michael Keane

It is understood that Conte wants one of the English duo to comply with Premier League’s homegrown player regulations and that the scouts of the club will keep a close eye on the duo throughout the season.

Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson

Both the youngsters are close to their first national team call-ups and it is understood that Conte will make a move for either of the player’s next summer and will want him to lead the defense of the side for years to come.

Who do you think can replace John Terry at Chelsea football club in the future?
