Argentina’s media has expressed discontent after their home defeat against Ecuador in the first match of the 2018 World Cup South American qualifiers. Despite Argentina attacking the Ecuadorian goal, they could not score their defenders were shaky. Ecuador won 2-0 on Thursday, reports Xinhua. “Great disappointment was felt in Monumental Stadium. Argentina loses 2-0 in its debut,” adding that “A night to be forgotten. Aguero was injured on minutes.” Sports daily Ole, more dramatically, said, “Ecuaterror. Argentina suffers a great defeat at the beginning of the Qualifying Tournament against Ecuador.” Telam news agency, in a more calm way, said, “An unimpressive Argentina was defeated by Ecuador in Monumental Stadium.” Sports experts said it was one of the worst performances of the team led by coach Gerardo “Tata” Martino. Argentina will face Paraguay on October 13.
