According to Express, Premier League giants, Arsenal FC have decided to raid French champions Paris Saint-Germain for a double swoop. If reports are to be believed then Arsenal wants French midfielder Adrian Rabiot and Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani this summer from the French side.

Arsenal has only made one major signing this summer, Petr Cech from Chelsea and the club is looking forward to strengthening their squad this time by signing a new midfielder and a striker.

The striker is a key priority for the Gunners who have only Olivier Giroud as a proper striker up front. Arsene Wenger had signed Danny Welbeck from Manchester United last summer, but the English striker has been vulnerable. Wenger has even tried Theo Walcott in the position and even though Walcott did a commendable job, it is definitely not a permanent solution.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, but the deal is yet to be finalised. In the meantime according to the media the team is been strongly linked with a move for Edinson Cavani.

Also French midfielder Adrian Rabiot has been linked with the Gunners who are looking for a central midfielder who could be a cover Francis Coquelin and Jack Wilshere. Wilshere is injury prone and has already been out of action for two months. Francis Coquelin is young and the club does not have a cover player for the Frenchman.

Arsenal has players like Mathieu Flamini and the captain Mikel Arteta, but a title aspiring team cannot just reply on two ageing players like the duo. So Rabiot who had a very good season with PSG last time will be a great move for the Gunners.

It will be interesting to see if PSg agrees to sell two of their star players to Arsenal. Manager Laurent Blanc had confirmed earlier in the summer that they would not sell any of their star players this time as they are eyeing a restructuring of the squad to challenge for the UEFA Champions League.
