According to latest reports, Arsenal are ready to make a bid for Bayer Leverkusen’s goalkeeper Bernd Leno this season. The 23-year old had an impressive season this year for Bayer Leverkusen.
He is considered as one of the world-class goalkeepers for the future by many in Germany. The player made 130 Bundesliga appearances for Bayer Leverkusen since joining the club from Stuttgart in 2011.
With future of Szczesny seeming uncertain at Arsenal after David Ospina took over as No.1 this season, Arsenal are in pursuit of a top-class goalkeeper.
Arsenal have sent scouts in recent weeks to Leverkusen games and reportedly are interested to sign him as they want to add a goalkeeper to their ranks this summer.
Leno has a £13m release clause in his contract and Arsenal would be haapy to activate the release clause to bring the player to London this summer. The player is considered as the future No.1 to Germany.
Leno is also thinking to move away from Germany as the player recently said, “The foreign option is certainly appealing. A new language, a new culture – that I could definitely even imagine.”
Leno has also drawn interest from Real Madrid but Arsene Wenger is ready to splash the cash for the young goalkeeper.
