Arsene Wenger is on an extended search for a top class striker this summer but that has not seen him divert his concentration away from shaping the squad.

He has already let a number of players leave from the squad as he looks for options around Europe in the transfer market to strengthen his squad from the previous season.

And one such player who will once again be away from the Emirates, again on a loan is Wojciech Szczesny.

The 26-year old has been at the Emirates for more than 10 years now but was loaned out to Roma after his turbulent 2014-15 season. He was caught smoking in the dressing room as he severed all ties with the Premier League club and it is now understood that Wenger wants to send him away from the club this summer as well.

The Gunners will go into the next season with Petr Cech as the first choice goalkeeper in all four competitions leaving the 26-year old hardly any chance of game time next season.

However, Wenger is not impressed with his off-the-field comments when he said that he learnt more at Roma in 4 months than he did at Arsenal in 10 years.

So it is expected that the shot-stopper will be out of the club this summer and AS Roma are interested in having him back on another loan spell next season.

The Italian outfit are also considering a move for Spanish international Diego Lopez who is currently on the verge of a move away from AC Milan this summer.

They are looking at the 34-year old to lead the side in front of goal next season but Lopez is also attracting interests from elsewhere which has seen Roma move for the Arsenal keeper for the second season running.

Though it was reported earlier that talks stalled between the two clubs over the move, it now looks like it has cleared up and the deal will be completed in the coming days.

Sczcesny was decent on goal in Italy and will not be too angry with a move away from England. But it will be interesting to see how Wenger deals with this situation as it seems like he does not want the 26-year old to play for the club anymore.

Do you think Wojciech Szczesny should leave Arsenal this summer?
